ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING AND VULCANIZATION OF CARBON BLACK–FILLED NATURAL RUBBER–BASED COMPONENTS

ABSTRACT Additive manufacturing of thermoplastics or metals is a well-approved sustainable process for obtaining rapidly precise and individual technical components. Except crosslinked silicone rubber thermoplastic elastomers, there no method additive elastomers. Based on the development elastomers (AME) process, material group rubber-based cured may gain first access to field three-dimensional (3D) printing. Printing crosslinking separated into two steps. In step, printing realized by extrusion using twin-screw extruder, which works according derived fused-filament-fabrication principle. second component vulcanized in high-pressure hot-air autoclave. Because plastic flow behavior non–crosslinked materials, shell probably needed maintain geometry position additively manufactured rubber. this way, one layer are printed alternatingly until finished. Afterward, binary placed an autoclave obtain elastomer after vulcanization under atmosphere. Then, removed from can subsequently be recycled. As compared with conventional thermoplastics, high viscosity during processing its instable shape challenging factors AME.
